ATS Gala Night: Turkish Film and TV in Spotlight

The American Turkish Society’s (ATS) annual gala, renowned for its grand celebrations, hosted yet another spectacular event this year. Held on October 28 at the iconic Cipriani in New York City, the gala recognized and honoured the international successes of the Turkish television and cinema industries.

Throughout the evening, Turkish artists and producers, along with prominent figures from Hollywood, came together to celebrate the powerful cultural and artistic ties between Turkey and the United States.

At this special night, Türkiye’s impressive achievements in television and cinema were celebrated on an international stage. Awards were presented to producers Onur Güvenatam (OGM Pictures), Timur Savcı (TIMS&B), and Kerem Çatay (Ay Yapım) in the producer category. In the artist category, acclaimed Turkish actors Halit Ergenç, Serenay Sarıkaya, and Hande Erçel were honoured for their contributions.

The evening took on a special significance as it coincided with the 101st anniversary of the Turkish Republic, further emphasizing Turkey’s rich cultural heritage on a global scale.

As ATS Chair Suzan Sabancı highlighted in her speech, the Turkish television and film industry now reaches millions worldwide, with Türkiye’s unique stories and cultural richness resonating across diverse regions.

During the gala, ATS also introduced its newly established Film, Television, and New Media Fund, aimed at supporting students and creators eager to develop new projects in creative industries.
