Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye’s Significant Support to the Cinema Industry

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism is drawing attention this year with the support it has provided to the cinema sector. According to the statement made by the Ministry, the total amount of support transferred to the cinema sector has reached 44.9 million liras. These supports, determined by the Cinema Support Board, play a significant role in the production of high-quality documentary films in the industry.

This year, the board evaluated 191 documentary film production project applications and decided to provide a total of 10.335 million liras in support of 44 projects. This important step aims to enhance the quality of documentary film productions and encourage more documentary filmmakers.
Additionally, last month the Ministry provided 1.84 million liras to 23 script and dialogue writing projects, 3.846 million liras to 28 short film production projects, 935,000 liras to 9 short animation film production projects, and 27.935 million liras to 87 domestic film screening projects. These supports aim to increase diversity and quality in the industry by offering extensive support to filmmakers in various categories.
With the new support allocated to documentary film productions, the total amount of support transferred to the cinema sector this year has reached 44.9 million liras. The Ministry has evaluated and concluded applications for post-production distribution and promotion, first feature film production, co-production, and feature film production by the end of May. This process will allow for the introduction of new projects to the cinema industry and enable existing projects to reach a broader audience.
